What if You Taught Yourself How to Drive a Car?

And what does this have to do with using mind mapping tools effectively?

Imagine if you learned how to drive a car on your own. You figured out the basics pretty quickly. But the rest is a bit of a mystery.

You can’t figure out how to:

Drive on expressways: You’re able to get from one city to another on smaller, slower roads. It just takes a lot longer. You tried driving the expressway once, but it was terrifying.

Parallel park your car: This makes finding workable parking spots in busy urban areas almost impossible.

Use the parking brake to safely park on hills: This has led to several close calls where you almost hit parked cars.

Deep down, you sense that there’s much more to it than you’ve been able to figure out. Turns out that for some things, trial and error is NOT the best strategy.

In fact, driving safely and effectively is much HARDER than you ever imagined. So challenging that you may just give up and rely on other forms of transportation to get around.
