Immobilized by a wall of uncertainty? Here’s how to discern a path to your goals.

Are you waiting for clarity to make forward progress in your career or life? Do you tend to view any effort that doesn’t get you closer to your goals as a failure? That’s the wrong approach, according to an incredibly perceptive article by Jeremy Enns in his Creative Wayfinding newsletter.

As s creator, you deal with a lot of uncertainty. Therefore, it’s not surprising that you may frequently ask yourself, “Where am I going?” and “How am I going to get there?”

Often, there is no clear path. It’s up to you to sharpen your creative machete and forge one through the wilderness.

The conventional wisdom is that clarity is a prerequisite for making progress toward your destination. But too often, this mindset immobilizes you.

Waiting for clarity rarely produces any meaningful insights.

So you continue to hope, wish and plan, waiting for all the traffic lights ahead of you to turn green at the same time. But, of course, such a clear sign rarely emerges.

A simple antidote for uncertainty
