3 metaphors for resilience to help you bounce back stronger than ever

What do David and Goliath, an archer, interplanetary spacecraft and post-COVID career momentum have in common?

They all can benefit from a slingshot effect.

We’ve all been through a lot during the last two years. We’ve endured many challenges and setbacks. Many of us have suffered through job losses, the deaths of loved ones and much more.

But sometimes, challenges give us a powerful springboard to leap forward, stronger than ever. Three examples shed light on this concept and bring it to life.

Example #1 — David & Goliath

In the Bible, young David, armed with only a slingshot, uses speed, agility and innovation to slay the giant Goliath. Malcolm Gladwell brings this story to life in his book, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants:
