How is mind mapping like the subject of a remarkable, Ancient Greek legend? You may be surprised!

According to Greek mythology, the Gordian Knot was a huge, ball-like Turkish knot with no ends exposed. It was impossible to untie. An oracle had predicted that the first person to do so would become the ruler of all Asia. Thousands of people had tried, without success, to unlock its complex riddles.

This intricately knotted ball of rope is a fantastic analogy for the complex, often ambiguous challenges we face today when trying to manage information and knowledge. We often struggle to transform a constant barrage of information, data and knowledge into clarity, meaning, wisdom and action.
